de-bunk some of the myths around idling your car. (2 min.)

About Air pollution
The first step....is that we need to recognize that air pollution exists and reducing 'localized air pollution' is within our own control. "YOU HAVE THE KEY!"

Virtually all scientific evidence proves that climate change is real and is caused by mankind and its excessive use of energy, over consumption of disposable goods that are filling our landfill sites, and by our transportation sector including our planes, trucks and personal vehicles.

Our society ( especially in North America) has been built around the use of the car and marketing has driven many of us into buying large trucks and gas guzzling SUV's instead of more practical and fuel-efficient small cars. When combined with poor driving habits, it is estimated that North Americans consume 40% more fuel per kilometer when compared to drivers in Japan or Europe. Wasteful driving habits can reduce this and unnecessary idling while parked can help reduce this level of waste and can have several other benefits along the way.

As with most things environmental, conservation is the easiest thing to do, such as turning off lights when they are not in use or turning down the home thermostat while at work. When it comes to driving habits, using efficient driving habits, carpooling and grouping errands, buying fuel efficient vehicles and finding ways to minimize the need to drive are all good habits to create in your family. One of the simplest and most misunderstood myths out there is about the need to idle ones vehicles and the effects of vehicle exhaust on humans ( especially children and the elderly).

Idling vehicles is unnecessary with today's vehicles, is costing you thousands of dollars over the life of your car in fuel costs, repairs and indirectly in health and environmental costs.

DADA will attempt to spell out the facts and debunk the many myths people have about idling and show the facts. We hope that after reading the facts, you will come to the same conclusion millions of people around the world have figured out, that...

NOT IDLING IS GOOD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT; SAVES YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY; PROTECTS OUR NATURAL RESOURCES; PROVIDES FRESH AIR TO BREATHE; PREVENTS ASTHMA ATTACKS; PROTECTS YOUR KIDS FUTURE AND HEALTH; IS CONSIDERATE TO BY-STANDERS AND IS SO EASY TO DO AS YOU NEED TO TURN THE KEY.

There are solutions and things we can do TODAY that can slowly change our bad habits and replace them with more efficient and effective ways to go about our daily lives. Follow the steps below to get started.
